Domestic Career Highlights In the fall of 1980, as a fifteen-year-old Drazen started to play for the senior team of basketball club Sibenka. With that team he played twice in the finals of Radivoj Korac cup, in 1982. and 1983. From 1984 he played in basketball club Cibona, with whom he won the state championship (1985) and State Cup (1985, 1986 and 1988), and twice the Champion’s Cup (1985 and 1986) as well as the Cup of the Cup’s Winners (1987).
Shortly after his untimely death in 1993, the main basketball center in Zagreb and the square where it is located were named in his honor. Posthumously President Tudman awarded him the highest Croatian decorations: the order of the Danica Hrvatska, the Order of Danica Hrvatska with the figure of Franjo Bucar and the Memorial of the Homeland War, while in 1995 the silver piece baring his likeness was created.
